Last Day In Wuhan- The Closing Ceremony

13/04/09
Today is my last day in Wuhan; well we didn’t go elsewhere. I woke up at 1 pm and began my packing of luggage. I got many things to pack and i felt so tired as yesterday party really drunk me out.
At 3 pm we went to take a group photo at outside of our campus. We took many crazy shots, both formal and informal. Well this would be our last time taking a group photo in this Wuhan campus. Then at around 5pm was the closing ceremony party. We had snack and drinks with the locals student. We also played games and dance with them too. My friend Cris and Shu Gen went up the stage to do some performance, Cris went up to dance and Shu Gen went up to sing for us a song. We really had a great time together.
Before we left the room for the firework party, Mr Ma and Mr Ann gave final last speech to us and farewells. Then we headed out to watch the firework display held at open space between the Foreign language school and Business school. This is the FIRST time we play firework, in Singapore firework is ban, therefore i really enjoy at the fireworks party. It was certainly a spectacular end for the trip in Wuhan. I am sure i will miss them very much. Thank you so much Wuhan =)
REFLECTION
Time really flies; we would be in Singapore within the next 48 hours. I am now having mixed feelings of leaving Wuhan and returning to Singapore. After all, we have been here for 6 weeks. I have made many new friends in this trip, both the locals here and this trip group. I also had exposed myself to the outside world and being independent as well. I really missed my family and friends very much, i hope to share every moment in Wuhan with them the moment i am back in Singapore.

12/04/09
Today is my last day of shopping, bought the most stuff for today’s shopping. We went to Lu Xiang Guan Chang for shopping once again. Woke up at 9 am and meet up with my friend and took 903 bus. We alighted at the wrong bus stop, we alight one bus stop after, because none of us were paying attention to where we were. Therefore, we had no choice but to walk back. We took about20 minutes to walk to the shopping mall.
Once we reached there, we eat MacDonald for lunch. After lunch, we began to shop. I bought lots of anime figuring for my brother and a hand bag for my mum. The hand bag really cost me bomb as i am currently out of cash, well my mum is the person that sponsor me for the trip and is also the person i love most in this world, thus to show my gratitude, i die die also must buy her something expensive. During the sale for my mum bag, i had a hard time bargaining with the sales woman there, firstly she gives only a 30% discount, then i increase to 40% discount i kept walking in and out of the shop just to show my attitude to her, then after 20 minutes she gives up and gave me the 40% discount.
After shopping, we went to Carrefour to buy some wines and liquor for today night party. After buying those wine and liquor, we back to the dorm for some rest and received a message from Mr Ma that, the fireworks party is postpone again, due to the bad weather.
However we he had our own party. At night we drink throughout the night. We played poker games and whoever loses gets the forfeit which is drinking a cup of pure CHIVAS liquor. Most of my friends get drunk, well i am not drunk at all, haha maybe my body mass is heavier.
The one who is most drunk was Cris and Jia Hui, Cris gets crazy and Jia Hui vomits. Both of them were knocked out and went to bed. Then it left with Gen, Stef, Nickki, Hui, Ernest, Jit Siong and me. We didn’t play any games but we had Chit- chatting all the way. We talked till next morning 8 am, can you believe it!
It was really an experience as we were about to leave Wuhan, drinking wine and talking cock till next morning really was an unforgettable experience.
REFLECTION
During my shopping, i realise something, if i were to consult a sales assistant on what gift should i get for someone, the first question that they would ask u, will be “Is the person whom you are giving this gift is an important person, and what his status?” This shows that status really does matter in China, especially when buying a gifts to someone.

Lu Xiang Guan Chang again!

Look at these two clown

Party end at next morning 8am...

The litters in Wuhan

View The Waste dispose by the people
&
View how the rubbish will treated here

Currently, about 40% of urban solid waste is not treated in Hu Bei, but is instead
Land filled at sub-standard facilities on the outskirts of cities.

The total amount of waste has been growing at a
Similar pace of 8-10% annually. Currently,

every Chinese person producesevery year on average 440 kg of solid waste.

Manually loaded open dump trolley, which is common in Wuhan.

Though is common use, air pollution will occur as pungent smell will emit from
disposal food.

Higher consumptionincreases the amount of waste generated.

Food that were dumped on the streets.

The cleaners of Wuhan

The broom that made of branches

Streets in the rainning day, causing the dust and mud to flow along the streets and
some... may even blocked the drain.
Instead of throwing the rubbish into the bin, the locals would rather
threw beside the bin.
Land filling is the most common method of solid waste disposal in China.

A mobile toilet.

Instead of building a toilet bowl in this mobile toilet, they actually just use a
pail for peeing.

Manuel sewage method used in urban places in Wuhan.

Sewages that were stored.

As the total population of China is approximately 1,25 billion, the total
amount of waste is around 500 million tons.
Through these pictures, i hope you roughly have a rough
ideal on Wuhan cleanliness and know how their wastes
were treated.
